The Chairperson of the National Draft Committee for Security Policies assured the public participation in the process to set up national policies to reform the security sector.
Kual Deng About made the statement on Friday morning in Wau during the opening of a three-day workshop organized by the committee with the support from British and Norwegian governments, Voice of Hope reported.He explained that the workshop aimed at consolidating all sectors of the society in drafting security policies as mandated by the National Council of Ministers in order to stabilize the country.
Mr Deng added that the same workshop was conducted in Upper Nile, Unity, Warrap and Northern Bahr el-Ghazal.
He said the workshop is to sensitize about the content of the draft and gather extra views on the document.
Mr Deng explained that the committee aims at building a bright future for the country.
He said he wanted every citizen to have a copy of the security reform after being passed by National Parliament.
Mr Deng added that the public discussion of the security policies would foster national unity.
The committee has 11 members from different security and organized forces and intellectuals, plus two representatives from each state, totalling 31 people.
