Tonj South County women want to cultivate more land this year to prevent hunger in their families.
Ketirena Nyibol Jabir, a mother of eight children, said that the women are mainly depend on brewing and selling local alcohol to feed their children which does not generate more money, Radio Don Bosco Êreported.She added that selling local brewed alcohol and white beer will not help feed children.
Ms Nyibol urged other women to join cultivation to get more food for their families.
Asunta Ramadan said market for local alcohol was very small and she could not finish selling in two days.
She said it was better for women to engage in agriculture to feed their children.
