A delegation from the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) travelled to Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal State, on Thursday to inspect the ongoing construction of the 26,188.89-square-metre campus of the South Sudan Institute of Banking and Finance (SSIBF).

The campus is being constructed by GS Group Construction Company and is expected to be completed before the end of 2027, with the intention of strengthening professional skills in banking and finance through education, training, research, and consultancy.

The delegation, led by the Second Deputy Governor for Administration and Finance, Hon. Weituy Luony Babuoth, and accompanied by the Director General for Administration and Human Resources, Dr. Majok Kuol Mading, conducted an oversight tour of the construction site to assess the project’s progress achieved and challenges.

During the visit, Western Bahr el Ghazal State Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Josephine Mario, raised concerns over liquidity challenges affecting the flow of financial resources in the state.

In response, Hon. Babuoth said a high-level ministerial Economic Reforms Committee, established by the President, is working to address monetary and broader economic issues, including liquidity concerns.

The Bank of South Sudan is supporting the SSIBF campus under the Strengthening South Sudan’s Financial Sector (3SF) Project, financed by the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA).
