President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, to discuss recent parliamentary activities and preparations for the 2025–2026 national budget.
The meeting, held at the State House in Juba on Thursday, 07 2025, focused on legislative priorities and the anticipated presentation of the national budget to Parliament in the coming days for debate and approval.
Speaker Nunu briefed the President on the Assembly’s progress and commended him for his consistent support to the Legislature. She noted that the collaboration between the Executive and Parliament has been critical in strengthening legislative and oversight functions.
“The continued support of the President has enabled the National Assembly to carry out its duties effectively,” Speaker Nunu stated, adding that such cooperation is essential for fostering peace, development, and improved service delivery across the country.
The Speaker reaffirmed the Legislature’s commitment to working closely with the Executive to ensure that national priorities are addressed through inclusive and transparent legislative processes.
