Two people survived death in a Car ambush along Wau – Juba Road

A 19-year-old girl and a man were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in was ambushed along the Wau – Juba road on Sunday.

In an interview with Voice of Hope, the victim’s sister, Narjis Elia Mario, said that they felt into an ambush between Rolchal Akol and Chobet road on their way to Juba for family matters.

According to Narjis, the attacker who opened fire on their vehicle did not steal anything from them

Narjis narrates that, during the shooting, the unknown man’s intention was the driver; however, the bullet missed the driver and struck her sister Veronica in the hand and chest and another man who was sittted next to her.

She stated that it was only after reaching Chobet that they realized Veronica had been injured.

Veronica is currently suffering due to a lack of oxygen and she is receiving treatment at Wau Teaching Hospital.

Elia Mario states that they have filed a report with the police, but the shooter remains unidentified. 

Narjis emphasizes that and called on the government to enhance security for road users.

Meanwhile, the effort to reach the police for comments was unsuccessful.

The speaker made these remarks to Voice of Hope Radio at Wau Teaching Hospital on Monday.
