The State Legislative Assembly of Western Bahr EL Ghazal has announced a month recess and promises to use the Assembly Business Committee to run the public affairs.

Assembly spokesperson Hagalla Simon Mohammed says the committee will monitor the effective implementation of the government policies.

Lawmakers instruct all the members of the Assembly to make sure they reach their respective constituencies as directed.

He adds that by the end of the one-month recess, all the members of the assembly are to submit their reports to the August house for deliberation.

Simon Mohammed appeals to the parliamentarians to go deep into their locations and convent with the local people at the grassroots about peace and stability in their area and the state.

“Everyone should go to their area and be part of the area, advocate for peace and stability because any instability in the state all of us will bear its consequences and the parliamentarians must change the mindset of the people.”

The parliamentarians will resume their activities at the state Assembly on 27th March 2024 after the elapse of their recess period.
