Bishop Emmanuel celebrates 1st anniversary in Torit

The Catholic Bishop of Torit Diocese has marked one year on Monday in his episcopate as Bishop of Torit Diocese since his ordination early last year.

Bishop Emmanuel Bernardino Lowi Napeta was ordained by His Emeritus Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir Wako of Sudan and South Sudan at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Tort Eastern Equatoria State.

The Church leader says the clergy at the Diocese are making efforts to strengthen the bishopric diversity through missionaries’ congregations to assist in the development of the Diocese.

He revealed that the Diocese is vast and hence requires help from the missionaries.

Emmanuel confirmed the vastness of the Diocese during his pastoral visit citing that there is a need to create more parishes with the need of more priests.

He however appeals to the seminarians to rescue situations in the diocese

Meanwhile, Fr. Kamilo Afore Arkadio who acts as the representative of the priests in the Diocese stresses the need for unity to assist in sharing challenges amongst the clergy that could strengthen the relationship among priests in the Diocese.

Fr. Kamilo afore who is the parish priest of St. Peter and Paul Cathedral ordained in 1987 states that Torit Diocese previously encouraged togetherness among priests to the entire Christians through solidarity.

For his part Fr. Marko Ofuho who is the apostle of Jesus from Torit Diocese ordained in 1998 as a priest encourages fellow Monks to solve minor challenges facing them and the institutions in the Diocese to give a rest to the bishop.

He adds that the struggle continues since Late Emeritus Paride Taban to Cardinal Ameyu who did their best in the call for the stabilization of the Diocese.
