Catholic Church Cardinal, His Eminence Stephen Ameyu Martin Molla has told the mourners that the death of Comboni Missionary’s Catholic Priest Father Joseph Okello is a transformation to a new life.
His eminence Ameyu while presiding over requiem mass at St. Theresa this morning [Saturday] for Late Fr. Joseph Okello says those who committed themselves to God will see a new life.
“Unless we encounter this important transformation of death, death is painful to those who hear the ward, but to those who commit themselves to Christ is a transformation.”
Cardinal Stephen adds that it’s important for people to understand the mystery of death and that it’s not a big sin.
“To my dear brothers and sisters, it’s important for us to understand the mystery of death and that death is not a big sin because the lord has covered his place and we should remain strong in faith.”
He says the Lord assures everyone who lives and believes in him during death and resurrection.
“The lord assures everyone who lives and believes in him, that he will share in his death and resurrection.”
Cardinal Molla calls on the mourners to be closer to Jesus Christ who is always ready to embrace everyone.
“So my dear brothers and sisters, let us always get to Jesus Christ who is there ready to embrace us and we must be ready like our dear Joseph who embraces a new life that comes through death.”
He encourages the believers and mourners to always focus their lives on their savior Jesus Christ because nothing can keep them out of the love of God.
Ameyu narrates that the Church will continue to remember Father Joseph Okello through the sacraments he has given to God’s people.
“We remember in a very especially way because he has been serving the people of God through sacraments. We remember his devotion to the Holy bishops and his profound adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and also we remember him as he preaches the word of God to the people.”
We should always support one another and encourage each other, with assurance of faith, and resurrection.
