The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on the National Government to speed the completion of the road construction which was launched across the country.
Hon. Adil states that roads are vital for peacebuilding, boosting trades production, and security stabilization.
“I equally want to pronounce to you the message of congratulations to South Sudan at large for the constructions of Juba Bahr El Ghazel, Juba Bor Malakal Rweng, Juba Torit Nadapal, Juba Mundri Yambio Tombura Wau, Juba Kaji-kaji, Juba Lanyar Yei Kayar Roads mention a few, I sincerely appeal to the National government and National Institution concern for the completion of the implementation of these roads because they are vital for peacebuilding, boosting trade production and security stabilization.”
Emmanuel Adil urges his fellow governors to pledge their commitment to the deliberations and sharing of knowledge to provide responsive governance in the ten states.
“I therefore urge all of us to pledge our commitment to the deliberations and sharing of knowledge experience and expertise that shall provide responsive governance in our various states and administrative areas.”
He adds that the governors have an obligation in their forum to renew their commitment to deliver the essential of lasting peace.
“To overcome the challenges that the South Sudanese community is facing, and awaiting and expecting our intervention as the government, we have an obligation in this forum, to renew our commitment to deliver the prerequisite of lasting peace, security, and economic stabilization. This governors’ forum should signify and mark it as a year of lasting peace.”
He extends his gratitude for the efforts that the government is making in establishing institutions that are central to the contact of upcoming elections.
The Central Equatoria State Governor thanks the President of South Sudan for convening the 7th Governors’ Forum that seeks to foster National Cohesion and a peaceful transition for democratic governance.
Adil appeals to the governors and people of South Sudanese to pledge their support to the president as the chairperson of the East African Community to contribute towards the transformation of the region.
The official was speaking during the 7th Governors’ forum which started on 28 November 2023, in Juba.
The governors’ forum which is held under the theme: “Fostering National Cohesion South Sudan path to peaceful Transition for Democratic Governance.” Is expected to end on Saturday the 2 of November 2023.
