7th annual Governors’ forum delay for a day

The 7th South Sudan National Governors’ Forum annual meeting initially scheduled to start on Monday the 27th of November, 2023, is postponed until the 28th of the same month.

The announcement was made by Michael Majok, the Director General of Decentralization and Intergovernmental Relations in the office of the president.

Speaking to the journalists during the postponement of the governors’ forum meeting, Michael Majok said the postponement came due to another task from President Salva Kiir Mayardit who was to open the forum.

“I have just come from his excellence, the President of the Republic of South Sudan and he said that he was busy today he had a lot of things to do, as a result, the governors.

Forum that was supposed to take place today should be postponed to tomorrow.”

He added that President Salva Kiir wants to be part of the opening of the governor’s forum meeting, therefore he decided to postpone it to tomorrow.

Governors’ Forum meeting is an annual event that brings together all the governors of South Sudan’s ten states and three administrative Areas to deliberate on development issues and things that are affecting federal governance at their levels.
