South Sudan Vice President for the Economic cluster, James Wani Igga, paid tribute to Jubek, the Founding Father of Juba, during the 13th Jubek Day Celebration.

Jubek Day is commemorated every 8th of July annually and has been dedicated to the Founding Father of Juba.
This year’s celebration was organized by the Bari Youth Association, entrusted by the Chiefs who were custodians of the Bari Community Centre.
The event was attended by government dignitaries, chiefs, and youth, among others.
The members of the Bari Community are meant to come together on this day to celebrate and reflect on their cultures. Jubek’s memory is celebrated every year on July 8, on the eve of South Sudan Independence’s anniversary.
The Bari community gathers at Jubek Memorial Square in Juba town to honor his legacy.
The celebration is an opportunity for the community to come together and reflect on their history and culture.
It is a reminder of the sacrifices made by Jubek and others like him in the founding of Juba and the nation of South Sudan
