The Catholic Bishop of Yei Diocese Alex Lodiong Sakor has called for the immediate removal of roadblocks, mainly the one next to St. Joseph worker parish Lutaua.

Bishop Alex says the barricade is threatening the movement of civilians and fear among the residents

“We don’t need this in the place here, roadblocks for what? The people who are removing iron sheets are not from outside and they come with guns. Let me hope they are not our soldiers doing it,” Bishop stressed.

The Governor of Central Equatoria, Emmanuel Adil Anthony as welcomed the call from the church leader

He says calls for security forces will be removed for a better realization of peace among citizens

Governor Adil acknowledged the efforts of Churches toward restoring hope and peace in South Sudan.

He appreciated the Church in Uganda and DR Congo for standing with the refugees who are voluntarily returning to South Sudan.

Adil also lauds Bishop Alex for his initiative of touring the parishes of the diocese, disseminating a message of peace.

He pledged his government’s commitment to work with the church.

Yesterday I talked to the Commissioner and the security organ to relocate people at that checkpoint,” Governor Adil assured.
