The Catholic bishop of Rumbek Diocese Christian Carlassare during his visit to Mabor Akaan Cattle Camp advises married men and women to educate their children.

Bishop Christian says children in cattle camps might know how to do things locally but it is good to take them to school to learn formal education.

“Think about the school of your children, because your children you are teaching them many things. The girls know to cook, they know how to milk the cow they also know how to pound the sorghum.”

“The boys know how to make the ropes for the cows maybe you know how to go hunting in the bush, there are many things that we learned but we need also the school to learn all that is in the book,” Bishop said.

Bishop Calarssare told young people to stop thinking about marriages and to learn important things for their better lives.

He said development only comes through educated people.

“There is a time of marriage but there is also time to learn important things for our life because if you send your children to school, you will not lose them, you will gain,” Christian added.

He encouraged development through educated people and cows will become more, milk will become more, food will be more and living will be better.

The Catholic Prelate was speaking during his homily in the Mabor Akaan Cattle camp of Rumbek East County.
