60 thousand candidates sit for primary certificate countrywide

The examination for South Sudan’s Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) has kicked off countrywide with a new record in the number of pupils partaking in the exams.

National Examination Council disclosed that a total of 60,714 Primary Eight candidates are sitting for the ongoing exams countrywide.

The exams started today, 13th February will end on 17th, February 2023. Education official says among the candidates, 34,505 are males and 26,209 are females.

The Vice President of the Service Cluster, Hussein Abdulbagi rang the bell for the exams to commence at Malakia Primary school this Monday.

Abdulbagi encourages the candidates to do their best and avoid malpractices during the examination period.

He urges the candidates to display honesty and integrity while the exams are ongoing as they climb the ladder of the academic journey.

“You have studied and are ready for the Exams, remember to display honesty and integrity while climbing the academic journey.  You must not cheat during the examinations,” the Vice President cautioned the candidates.

The Vice President applaud parents for their unwavering support of the children and asked them to continue allowing the student to learn.

 “Parents whose children are sitting for the CPE today, you have guided and brought the children to love Education because you believe in the power of Education. Please continue to support them until University,” Hussein urged the parents.

Vice President Hussein Abdulbagi recognized the efforts of the teachers who have groomed and prepared the candidates for the exams.

He says teachers are leaders and they worked hard to ensure the learners achieve their goals by monitoring and guiding them toward the objective of education.

The National Minister of General Education and instructions, Awut Deng Achuil encouraged the candidates to do their best in the exams as they sought to get to another level of education.

The candidates are sitting for five subjects including Religious Education, Science, English, Social Studies and Mathematics.

The number of candidates sitting for CPE this year has increased to 7,494 compared to the previous year when the number of students was 53,220 candidates.
