The authorities and citizens of Abyei Administrative Area are ready to receive the fact-finding committee formed by president to investigate the root cause of the conflict between Abyei and Twic County of Warrap State.

Commissioner of Rumamer County in Abyei, Chol Pur Chol, thanks the national government’s bold decision to form a committee to find out the root causes of the violent, Don Bosco Radio reported.

Pur says up to now the people of Abyei are still asking their brothers of Twic County especially people of Ajak Kuac, Anyil Kuac and Turale why they are killing themselves alone without waiting for the common enemy.

The commissioner said people of Abyei are South Sudanese and are all brothers and sisters of this country and there is no need to fight one another.

The commissioner was speaking to Don Bosco Radio over telephone from Abyei Administrative Area on Tuesday in Tonj.

The government of Warrap State was not ready to comment.

Earlier last month, conflict erupted between communities of Twic and Abyei because of land grabbing.
