Teachers must be empowered for the welfare of the nation, said Reverend Brother Sylvester Awash, Education Coordinator of the Catholic Diocese of Wau during the conclusion of five-day training of teachers.
He asked teachers specially those who came from counties to put into practice the knowledge they gained during the course, Voice of Hope Radio reported.
Wau catholic Diocese Vicar General Fr Germano Bernardo Baku explained that it is not easy to work with small children in schools.
He added that being a teacher is a great task that requires commitment, sacrifice and responsibility to do the work accordingly.
Some teachers say the training was very important as people are traumatized and they will deliver the knowledge gained to other teachers in their respective schools.
The officials made these remarks to Voice of Hope Radio during the conclusion of five-day workshop for teachers on basic counselling skills for trauma healing.
The course was sponsored by Solidarity with South Sudan Pastoral Team in collaboration with Education office of the catholic Diocese of Wau.
