Kapoeta-Jebel Koten will be playing against Nimule-Nile Eagle football club in a competitive match on 10th and 13th December 2021 at Torit Freedom Square
According to Secretary of Torit Local Football Association, Martin Oting states that Jebel Koten club will be crown as champions in Greater Kapoeta while Nile Eagle club as champions in Nimule of Magwi County.
He says the match will determine to winner to join South Sudan champions -Malakia FC in Torit to represent Eastern Equatoria at the national level.
// Kapoeta and Nimule are part of Torit Local football association, that is why TLFA organises their match between Nimule and Kapoeta that will be played home and away to get the winner to play in South Sudan cup, their games will be played on 10/and 13/12/2021, the winner join malakia football club to represent eastern Equatoria in South Sudan tournament when time comes.
The secretary explains that financial challenges was the biggest issue which made it difficult for the first game which was be played in Kapoeta
He says the Board of Directors of Torit Local Football Association later resolved to bring the football match to Torit since it is the centre of the state.
// according to the agreement the first game is supposed to be played in Kapoeta and second one in Nimule, but because of poverty that is why it couldn’t happen, and we see Torit is the center that can bring in Kapoeta and Nimule to play that is why all the two games will be played in Torit Midan Huria.
The secretary calls on the population across the state capital to give support to the competitors to play peacefully.
He says football acts as a source of good relationships that promote peace among youth in the state and the whole Country.
// I call on everybody to stand together and support football in Torit or eastern Equatoria state, mostly to the two teams going to play to give them happiness to play well, the importance of football is that it helps once body, it also brings better relationship among teams that brings peace among youth to know themselves in the state and whole country.
The match will kick off at exactly 2:30 pm South Sudan Local time on Friday in Torit Town.
