The Director for Child Welfare in the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, tasks Zain to empower women to restore their hope.
Celina Grace Peter urges the communication network and other partners to support women, by ending gender based violence and early child marriages in the country.
“We recognize what zain is doing, this is what we call the corporate social responsibility which zain is taking upon it, women empowerment and project to do with person with disability is the mandate of the ministry. So I look forward to having you in the ministry so that we share this kind of thing together, so that you will be able to support empowerment of women and person with disability.”
Meanwhile, Zain Communication and Branding Manager Eliza Isaiah Riyany pledges to support young women on computer training.
“If they bring the proposal to us, we are going to stand with them especially in computer skills. It’s a priority to us Zain and it is under the initiative of women in technology. We are going to stand with them of course and do more to teach our girls or empower them with skills of technology which is esteem.”
Zain is one of the Tele-communications’ network in South Sudan which has been supporting several activities, including the 16 Days of Activism, against gender based violence in Juba.
The speakers made the remarks during the celebration of the 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence, organized by Action Girls Africa in Juba.
