The Paramount Chief of Kapoeta North County is calling for peace dialogue, between the Topsa community and Murle, to end the circle of abduction in the area.

This call came after two children were reportedly kidnapped from Naminitoit Boma in Kapoeta North County.

Speaking to Radio Emmanuel, Joseph Losike, says the incident occurred at around 9:00 am.

“The two children were abducted at 9 AM in the bush, while taking care of goats and the community doesn’t know that the children were abducted until evening, 6 PM when goats came back alone without children. Then youth went to search for the children, unfortunately found that the footmarks were heading to (Pibor administrative area) the incident happen in Naminitoit boma Kapoeta North county”.

Losike calls on the government authority to organize a peace dialogue so that the two communities of Toposa and Murle can live peacefully.

He encourages the young people to engage in business other than violence.

“We only want the government to unite Murle and Toposa through dialogue, God says your son is your son. Why are we taking someone’s children? We want them to leave our children. Let people do business other than cattle wrestling and child abduction this is very bad”.

In August 2021, a woman was killed and her two children abducted by gunmen from the same area.
