Official calls on teachers and parents to follow COVID-19 preventive measures

The Deputy Director for Technical Education and Training in the State Ministry of Education is calling on teachers and parents to follow the COVID-19 preventive measures as school reopens.

Odongmon Morish Alex, says parents should ensure their children follow the preventive measures of COVID-19 starting right away from home so that they can do the same when they report to school.

He says when school children fail to abide by the preventive guidelines it will be very hard to curb the spread of the coronavirus at schools.

The Deputy Director is urging the state taskforce to distribute COVID-19 kits in schools and communities. 

Meanwhile the secretary of Torit Civic Engagement Centre, Ajok Grace says Covid-19 affected learners due to closure of schools hence reopening of the schools is a wise decision.

The speakers made the remarks during a roundtable discussion on Covid-19 and school closure in Torit Civic Engagement Centre on Tuesday.
