Member of Parliament from Rumbek East County Dharuai Mabor Teny in Lakes urges the presidency to declare the situation in the state as a national security emergency.
He also requests the government to apprehend perpetrators of the conflict same as it was done in Warrap State, Radio Good News reported.
MP Mabor says the number youth who died during the two-day revenge conflict has reached 23 with several injuries.
Mabor says cattle raiding and revenge are historical conflicts that have been the main issue in Lakes State since 2002.
He blames the national government for failing to support the state government to end the killings among youth in Rumbek.
The MP says there are still many unresolved issues including lack of justice to the people whose relatives have been killed.
Early this week, reports indicated at least 22 people were killed during two days clashes between armed youth and cattle raiders in Rumbek.
