Tuberculosis is still increasing in Tonj, said Dr Michael Yai Laboratory Technician in John Lee Memorial Hospital.

Don Bosco Radio quoted him regretting that people expected the killer disease to reduce.

Dr Yai said they were hoping for decrease in the number of patients suffering from tuberculosis, but could not happen due to lack following doctors’ the instructions.

The disease is multiplying itself in the community because when one person is infected then ten are infected and that lead to the higher rate of infection, the technician said.

The facility has built up the mechanism by employing a group called health home promoters to deliver messages about tuberculosis to the community, Yai explained.

Dr described tuberculosis disease as very complicated to be treated.
