Deputy police commissioner in Tonj says a woman was injured by unknown gunmen during an attack in Abyei-Chok village.
Mading Mayom Biar says the incident took place at night and the cause is unknown.
He adds the woman was injured on the leg and currently on treatment at Tonj civil hospital.
Biar mentions the unidentified gunmen were shooting while walking towards the river side.
The deputy police commission reiterates that his officers are investigating the incident.
The official spoke to Don Bosco radio on Monday in Tonj.
