The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied reports claiming that South Sudan has allowed Egypt to set up a military base at the border with Ethiopia.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Raphael Nhial Kulang said South Sudan did not sign any military cooperation agreement with Egypt, Bakhita Radio reported.
Egypt is only supporting South Sudan with the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement, he added.
Reports circulated on social media alleged that Cairo and Juba recently signed an agreement allowing Egypt to establish a military base in Pagak town.
Pagak is located close to the South Sudan–Ethiopia border.
