Deputy Head of Sudan’s Military Council Lieutenant General Mohammad Hamdan Daglo said the formation of the Legislative Council and the appointment of civilian governors are among requirements of the transitional period before signing the final peace agreement.

He on Monday in Juba called for overcoming minorities and making concessions for the sake of Sudanese people as they pursue ‘the progress of negotiations between government delegations and armed movements’.

Member of the Sovereign Council, Shamsuddin Kabashi, who is a member of the government negotiating delegation, expected a final peace agreement to be concluded soon.

He said negotiations between the two parties have recently banned technical committees from reviewing details of the signed framework agreement.

Head of the SPLM negotiating delegation Yasir Saeed Arman said the two parties will soon reach a final deal and South Kordofan and Blue Nile issues top the agenda of discussions.

‘We have both discussed the mean of creating a new military doctrine for the Sudanese army and the Revolutionary Front’s participation in power at all levels of federal and state rule’, he revealed.

Both government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) delegations resumed Monday a round of talks on the details of the agreement signed earlier.
