Nutritionist urges mothers to breastfeed exclusively

United Nation Children’s Fund or UNICEF Nutrition officer in Torit urges lactating mothers to exclusively breastfeed their children from 0-6 months.
 
Radio Emmanuel quotes Morii Julius saying breast milk is crucial to the growth and health of a child.
 
According to Julius supplementary food is suitable from 6months and above.
 
‘We are encouraging all mothers to breastfeed their children starting from 0-6months. This is very important for the mother and her child, society and the country at large. If the child reaches 6 months start giving supplementary food,’ He adds
 
State Director for Nutrition at the Ministry of Health Anthasia Sebastian, says children are future leaders and should be well care taken of.
 
She calls on parents to provide the necessary food needed for a baby’s growth.
 
‘Breastfeeding is very important, mothers continue breastfeeding your children because these children are our society and future leaders. it is these same children who will become Governor, Minister, we should breastfeed them well,’ the official explains
