The number of girls dropping out from schools in 2018/2019 is less compared to previous years, confirms Director for Gender at the State Ministry of Education.

Martha Richard says the ministry is facing challenges especially on issues of early marriage, pregnancies and poverty which cause more dropouts, Voice of Hope Radio reports

She recalls that the parents and the ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare had work hard and managed to control some problems.

The director notes that drop out of girls from schools is a serious as ministry had been facing difficulties all this time to bring back girls to learn through awareness.

She mentions that this year they received a big number of girls in the schools both at primary and secondary levels.

Martha requests parents not to give up talking and advising their children especially girls on the issue of education because it is the only key to success in life.

The official made the remarks to Voice of Hope Radio on Wednesday in Wau State Ministry of Education.
