The security situation in Rumbek town has improved according to inspector of police on Tuesday.
Colonel Zachariah Makuac Manyuon says the town is peaceful now except on Monday night where some gangs tried to break into some shops in the market and were dispersed by the police with live bullets.
He urges the citizens of Western Lakes State to refrain from criminal activities like theft.
Makuac discloses that the state authorities have organized security patrols in and around Rumbek town to control criminals attempting to sabotage tranquility in Western Lakes State.
