A Member of Parliament in the National Legislative Assembly is urging citizens of Basukangbii County and South Sudan at large to have the spirit of reconciliation because it is time for peace not detestation.
Anisa Radio quoted Samson Ezekiel Ndukpo saying in Basukangbii County that it is a collective responsibility to implement the peace agreement.
He during the revitalized peace agreement dissemination workshop on Tuesday appealed to citizens of Basukangbii County to cooperate with the government.
Francis Badagbu, Commissioner of Basukangbii County, welcomes the initiatives taken by MPs to enlighten the grassroots on the revitalized peace deal.
He reveals that the county is relatively calm and firmly committed to peace and development.
Badagbu adds that the new county is facing challenges of clean water, schools and lack of qualified medical personnel who can work in the hospital.
He calls on humanitarian partners to assist his people with basic services.
They made this remarks on Tuesday during the initiation of public dissemination of revitalized peace agreement in Basukangbii County under the theme: ‘We stand for peace unity reconciliation and progress’.
