Peace partners conclude pre-dialogue in Rumbek

A group of three partners on Friday concluded peace dialogue between Gak and Manuer of Pakam’s communities in Aloor and Malueth counties of former Rumbek North.

 
The partners that conducted the four-day dialogue in the area include Disable Agency for Rehabilitation and Development or DARD, OXFAM and UNMISS.
 
Peace Mediator Prof. Maker Manguony told County Commissioners of Aloor and Malueth that peace dialogue targets Manuer and Gak section of Pakam’s communities to resolve their differences.
 
He urges both communities living in the area to open up and discuss common conflicting issues facing them.
 
Aloor Commissioner Manyiel Mabor welcomes the team upon their arrival into the county to discuss peace issues freely without fear.
 
He promises to provide ample security to peace mediators who will be moving in the counties of Aloor and Malueth of former Rumbek North.
 
Malueth Commissioner Santino Machiek Mamer also applauds peace team and calls for more support to the vulnerable people in his county.
 
He says Pakam’s community want peace and stability in order to help them fight the looming hunger and lack of drinking water in the area.
 
Paramount Chief of the area Kulong Marial calls upon both community members to forgive and accept peace and live together as one.
 
‘Fighting has finished our people and we want to save lives of the remaining youth through peace dialogue and reconciliation’, Marial pleads.
 
Pakam’s community in both counties of Aloor and Malueth all express their willingness to come together for peace dialogue in Meen County so that they can celebrate peaceful co-existence in the area.
