Director urges public to help control of street children

Ministry Of Gender and Child Welfare Director General in Tonj state calls on public to help in controlling the street children.
 
Victor Makuoth discloses that citizens must have joint responsibility with the government to be able to control the increasing number of the homeless. Don Bosco radio reports
 
He reveals that the administration have deployed special police unit in collaboration with other authorities to control the street.
 
The director says there are many cases reported to his office of theft involving these street boys.
 
However, He says the owners tend to solve these cases themselves.
 
Makuoth raises concerns over the future of the society later if these children are not enrolled into schools.
 
Maria Agok Mapal an officer in the department of gender and child protection confirms that in the constitution of south Sudan a child under the age of 18 years old is not allow to be arrested.
 
He urges the communities to first report to the police if their properties are stolen.
