The Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Torit tells Christians to pray for mothers all over the world.

Fr Arkangelo Lokoro says mothers are the foundation of the church and encourages Christians to imitate the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary by having unwavering faith, Radio Emmanuel reports.

‘Today we pray for our mothers not only the one who gave birth to us but any mother, if you get a mother on the way, children help them because it’s a mother who have nurtured you until this age respect mothers just as you respect fathers a mother goes through a lot while bringing up her children and may the Lord Jesus who give us faith help us and make away for us to follow and not to go contrary’. He laments, he notes.

The priest adds that mothers face difficulties in bringing up their children the same way Mary did for Jesus.

The Vicar made this remarks during a homily at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral on Wednesday.
