I CAN South Sudan Music project will transform South Sudanese refugees’ children in Uganda and at home.
I Can south Sudan is Community-Based Organization (CBO) that aims to engage unaccompanied refugee’s children who fled war and lost their parents from south Sudan in social and musical activities
Stephen Wandu Bimo told Anisa Radio that the aim is to inspire hope in the lives of musically talented unaccompanied refugee children in the in northern Uganda.
He says another reason is to raise funds from their music to pay their tuition and get sponsorship for their education with the motto: ‘WE CAN’
Wandu believes that after two years the children will be able to visit and encourage other refugee camps around Africa to motivate children educative and spiritual programs on media.
South Sudan children can do what kids in other parts of the world can do but, they are limited by war, he stresses.
This project will reduce hardship and the children will grow into responsible citizens in future and issues like trauma and isolation which lead people to conflicts will be minimized, the musician explains.
The speaker was talking to Anisa Radio today in an online interview from Kampala
Stephen Wandu Bimo known as Ambassador Koko, a popular South Sudanese vocalist, founded I CAN South Sudan Music project in October 2017.
The project started with more than 20 children in Bidi Bidi refugee comp.
