Lack of medical personnel in Yangiri Primary Health Care Centre has affected people in the area, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio confirms to Anisa Radio.

Parish Priest of St Luke Evangelist-Yangiri, Luka Yugue, says people of Yangiri are in terrible situation and children are dying due to lack of staff in the Centre.

He appeals to partners to help the community.

Fr Yugue regrets that due to insecurity in Yangiri, many people have fled their areas especially the most populated villages of Yangiza and Maunvu.

He assures that in the past two weeks now there are no security threats in the area, though the people who fled still fear to come back.

The parish priest pleads to all South Sudanese to pray very hard for the ongoing talks in Khartoum to bring durable peace to South Sudan.

Opposition forces attacked Yangiri, killed and abducted some civilians on May 14 this year.
