The Norwegian Refugee Council has called on the South Sudan government to declare truce on humanitarian work to enable access to areas non accessible.
Secretary General of NRC, Jan Egland raised concern over the increase in demand of food assistance compared to previous years in the country.
Egland urges other donor countries and humanitarian partners not to lower funds for South Sudan.
He says this food crisis can be averted only if a humanitarian truce is announced to enable farmers to head back to their farms to cultivate.
Acting head of UN OCHA, Adnan Khan, says the operating environment of aid works continues to deteriorate due to workers harassment and attacks across the country
He urges donors to abundantly continue with their humanitarian aid support to the communities in need in South Sudan.
According to UN OCHA the conflict in South Sudan has entered its fifth year and the humanitarian crisis has continued to intensify and expand.
UN OCHA says 7 million People in need of assistance and protection and more than 2 million have fled to neighbouring countries.
