Following the circulation of rumors in Imotong State about the outbreak of Meningitis, the Health Minister says it is not yet confirmed.
Paska Hifita Oduho says there were similar signs and symptoms in mid February, but the Ministry did not confirm. Radio Emmanuel reports.
She reports that out of 41 cases registered, nine people died while others got healed after treating them.
Minister Hifita reports that symptoms of the unknown disease have also been registered in Kor Mus area.
The Minister urges the communities to be calm as the state ministry works hard to identify the outbreak.
Hifita also reiterates her Ministry’s commitment in strengthening the surveillance team to work and contain the disease.
The Minister urges citizens to restrict themselves from unnecessary travels to other places, to prevent the epidemic from spreading all over.
Minister Hifita was speaking to Journalists on Wednesday in Torit town.
