UN Police Coordinator in Wau says the presence of police in residential areas allows IDPs to go back to their homes and continue with their normal activities.
Chiristina Kordana expresses the need to establish more police stations across Wau town, so that the IDPs can feel secure and return to their homes, Voice of Hope reports.
She believes the renovation of the police station will improve the security situation in the area.
Joseph Luka Akuar is the Peace Friend & Community Development Executive Director. He says his organization and UNMISS launched the re-construction of police to allow easy access to services.
With the presence of police among civilians, it will create good environment to people, says Luka.
Captain Zaki Batista Zaki, Head of Lokoloko Police Station expresses their gratitude to UNMISS and other partners for the support.
He points out that the police officers are ready to work closely with the citizens and ensure that security prevails once again in the area.
