The former South Sudan National Liberation Movement or SSNLM has appreciated the Interfaith Based Council for mediating peace between the opposition fighters and the government.

Brigadier General Abel Banga Mathew is the top Commander of the new graduates, Anisa Radio reports.

He thanks people for standing with the former opposition group during their struggle in the bush up to their graduation and integration into the government forces.

The Brigadier General emphasizes that he and his forces are no longer rebels or defectors, but government soldiers.

Banga applauds Tambura State Governor, Major General Patrice Rafael Zamoi and Gbudue State Governor, Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa for their continuous pursuit for peace.

He says the governors’ efforts resulted into the integration of the former SSNLM into the government.

Banga assures the general public that their graduation and integration into the regular forces marks the end of the ongoing crimes in the State.

The Brigadier expresses willingness to work for peace in South Sudan.

Sikin Dominic, another former opposition fighter from SSNLM, expresses his excitement for the integration because it marks the end to their suffering in the bush.

He calls on anyone who is still in the bush to come to the negotiation table since the government is willing to dialogue with anyone.

Dominic says it is time to serve his community and the country.

The speakers made the remarks on Tuesday during the graduation of over one thousand former armed youth demanding equal representations in the national government.
