The ongoing war in South Sudan made the country sick and thirst for peace, says Catholic Bishop of Yei.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe says the ongoing fighting has sickened people and hungry and yet there is no help for them, Radio Easter reports.

He asks Jesus, the Prince of Peace to bring tranquillity and stability to South Sudan.

The Catholic prelate blames political leaders in the country for not doing enough to stop the killing and suffering of their people.

He adds that if South Sudanese cannot honour agreement they signed, they cannot ask God to bring peace.

Bishop Lodu made the remarks during the feast of the Christ the King in Yei Cathedral on Sunday.
