Sports administrators meet in Juba to plan for 2018 unity day

A two-day conference of sports representatives from across South Sudan kicked off in Juba on Wednesday, seeking to develop strategies for the third National Unity Day.
 
The event hosted by the Ministry of Sports supported by Japan International Cooperation agency or JICA, aims to promote peace and social cohesion through sports. Radio Bakhita  reports.
 
Minister of Sports Nadia Arop Dudi says, sports plays curcial role in promoting teamwork, unity, respect and tolerance among communities.
 
She urges youth to embrace sports activities in order to avoid the current divisions in the country.
 
The upcoming national unity will be staged in late January 2018 and is expected to last nine days.
