Listeners of Don Bosco Radio in Tonj State say South Sudanese communities should avoid the negative cultures and adopt the positive ones to help the country grow.
They say bad cultures will only contribute to the distraction of the people.
Chol David, thinks adopting ancient cultures of respecting one another and self-dignity are among the positive cultures that people should adopt.
David advises his fellow youth to show respect to their elders at homes and public places.
Majok James Abur is another listener. He comments that the good culture has now been lost because parents are not advising the upcoming generation on how to respect one another.
‘A child of under 5 years of age can insult an elder while they are not age mate; this is a disrespect’ James adds.
Another listener, Mabior Kuoi says senseless communal conflicts with other neighboring communities are regarded as one of the negative cultures that should be avoided.
He adds that the conflict has forced many young people lose their lives and others forced to migrate to the urban areas or neighbouring countries seeking for safety.
