A Doctor in Wau Teaching Hospital appeals to the citizens to access medical services immediately after rape incident to avoid its consequences.
Doctor Johnson Joseph Matar department of women and obstetrics told Radio Voice of Hope that any rape survivor should report to the hospital within 72 hours for immediate medical services.
Immediate treatment helps in preventing spread of sexual transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies reduce the records of death in the cases, he explains.
Doctor Joseph was speaking during one day workshop on sexual violence prevention and violence against gender.
The workshop was organized by the women right office which relates to UNMISS Wau field office.
