Acquire the spirit of truth and unity, Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio appealed to Christians during his homily on Sunday at St Mary Yambio Parish.
Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala says the Holy Spirit was sent to open eyes of believers to know God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit as Holy Trinity, Radio Anisa reports.
He urges Christians to open their hearts for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to take control of their good deeds and avoid sinful ones.
Bishop Hiiboro appeals to Christians to have deep understanding of God and do what the Holy Spirit directs them to do.
He mentions that God created human beings to live happily and peacefully.
If people accept and speak the truth, surely sins will have no room in their lives, Bishop Hiiboro observes.
The Catholic prelate discloses that unity is derived from knowing God right from childhood at home.
If we practice the gift of the Holy Spirit our homes, communities and the country will acquire strength and we shall be known children of God, says Bishop Hiiboro.
