AMDISS reelects Alfred Taban chairperson

The members of the Association for Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS elected Veteran journalist, Alfred Taban, chairperson for the second time.
 
Taban reassures journalists of his commitment to continue working for media development in South Sudan, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
He has been a key figure in the South Sudan’s media landscape and known locally and internationally for his courage to speak truth.
 
Taban who is also the Chief Editor of Juba Monitor Newspaper was first elected chairperson of AMDISS in October 2014.
 
Mary Ajith Goc, Director of Catholic Radio Network or CRN, is elected the deputy chairperson of AMDISS.
 
Ajith appreciates the Association for the election process, which she describes as democratic, just and fair.
 
Veronica Lucy Gordon, Chairperson of the Association of Media Women in South Sudan, expresses dissatisfaction over the low representation of females at AMDISS board.
 
She claims women do not have a fair representation compared to their male colleagues in decision making process.
 
Josephine Achiro the second female on the executive body says she is proud to be part of the team.
 
She assures journalists to work closely with other members to achieve the aims of the Association.
 
This is the third time AMDISS has held elections for its executive body members since its creation.
