The National Bureau of Statistics indicates that South Sudan annual Consumer Price Index increased by 682 percent from September 2015 to September 2016.

The Bureau says the increase was mainly driven by high price in food and non-alcoholic beverages.

In Juba alone, the annual consumer price level increased by 409.8 percent from September 2015 to September 2016.

In Wau it increased by 413.4 percent from September 2015 to September 2016, the Bureau says.

It says South Sudan monthly Consumer Price Index increased by 8.3 percent from August 2016 to September 2016 nationwide.

But in Juba, the monthly Consumer Price Index increased by 18 percent.
