Health officials report decrease in malaria cases in Torit

Hospital authorities in Torit town of Imotong State say there is a decrease in malaria cases at the facilities.
 
John Isaac, Medical Director of the Torit State Hospital tells residents to sleep under mosquito nets to prevent malaria disease, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
He strongly criticizes the misuse of mosquito nets as building and fishing materials.
 
Dr Isaac says despite a decrease in malaria cases in Torit Hospital specifically, more efforts have to be put to combat malaria spread.
 
The Medical Director says malaria and other diseases have been major causes of many death cases among children in Torit Hospital for the last three months.
 
The Ministry of Health in Imotong State on Tuesday started distributing thousand of treated mosquito nets in an attempt to fight malaria.
