Young people in Yei from all the tribes of South Sudan on Thursday formed a body call ‘Youth Peace Committee for Community Service’.
The nine-member committee is chaired by Lomoro Joseph with Michael Adier as secretary-general and Salim Levi as information officer, Radio Easter reports.
Chairperson Joseph tells fellow youth to work for peace and reject being use as tools of violence.
the committee will encourage young people to work for peace including working with other youth groups and organize peace forums, says Reverend Peter Tibi, Reconcile Peace International Executive Director.
The elections were held at Reconcile Peace Institute compound.
