Anaemia characterized by lack of iron minerals in blood increases among children under five years and women of reproductive age, says United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee, UNHCR.

Nutrition survey conducted last year shows chronic malnutrition in all surveyed refugee camps in South Sudan has increased as compared to 2014.

The increase is mainly attributed to 30 percent reduction of food rations, frequent breaks in the food supply, incomplete food baskets, rise in malaria and diarrhoea.

UNHCR says it provides blankets, targeted supplementary feeding programs and therapeutic feeding as a response to malnutrition among refugees in Unity and Upper Nile.
