Man protests against indecent dressing in church

A young man in South Sudan is leading seven months’ self-isolation protest from church Sunday worship to avoid temptation from what he terms offensive dressing by the opposite sex.

Stance Loyöbu says some young and old women dress in an offensive manner that detracts his attention from worshipping God.

They put on tight clothing that brings about temptation, he declares.

Loyöbu has resorted to lonely Sunday worship in his room.

The man challenges church leaders and parents to regulate dressing in the church and in society as a whole.

Loyöbu says he admires Muslims for upright dressing in their mosques and so Christians should do the same.

The man believes South Sudan is being punished with bloody wars because of immorality.

Some women respond to the man’s protest with jeers.

They say the man should mind his prayers instead of getting attracted to their modern dressing.

The bible in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 22: verse 5 reads:

‘A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God’.
