Central Equatoria State minister for Education on Monday launched primary eight exams.
Clement Marring Samuel rang the first bell at Kanjoro Primary School in Yei, Radio Easter reports.
13,584 pupils are sitting the exams, minister Marring reveals.
3,435 candidates comprising of 1,221 females and 2,214 males are sitting in 28 centres, says Yei River County Education Director Philip Taban.
Yei Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba hopes the candidates will perform well in the exams.
The leaders made the remarks during the launching at Kanjoro Primary School in Yei on Monday.
